Enabling Digital Building Technologies for Better Living
The title of my talk is “Enabling Digital Building Technologies for Better Living” This talk explores the possibilities of digital technologies to advance the quality, comfort and energy efficiency of modern buildings. With a strong focus on Building Information Modeling (BIM) as a foundation for planning construction and operation we examine what it needs to maintain a high level of model quality and ensure that a building operates exactly as it was planned.
Gerhard Zucker is a Senior Scientist at Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) in the field of smart buildings. He leads the research area Digital Building Technologies and works on machine learning, building automation and controls for optimization of energy efficiency as well as data analytics of operation data for optimizing building usage and maximizing comfort. He finished his diploma in 1998 at Vienna University of Technology and his Dr. techn. (PhD), viva-voce exam with excellence at Vienna University of Technology in 2006. He is associate editor with the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics (IEEE TII) and has authored 20 scientific journals papers and contributed to three books in the field of building automation and artificial intelligence.
